Candidates For The Board Of Directors
The Candidates for the Board of Director’s Election are (in alphabetical order):

Bill Bendick
Larry LaBeau
Dennis O’Leary
Eugene Rhodes
Jim Van Fleet

This year there are four (4) open positions on the Board.  The election will take place in October.  Ballots will be mailed in late September. The candidate applications, as well as other important election information, is available on the community website by Clicking Here.

The Wellness Center is Temporarily Relocating
Beginning Monday, June 23, The Wellness Center is undergoing remodeling in anticipation of its new immediate Care Clinic. During construction, the Wellness Center Staff is temporarily relocated to the Sun City Lifestyles office in the Fountain View Center of Prairie Lodge.  Call us at 847-802-7074 temporarily.

Wellness Lecture Cancelled
"The My HealtheVet: 24/7 Online Access to VA Health Tools” lecture for Tuesday, July 22, 2-4pm, is cancelled due to lack of enrollment. If anyone is interested in learning more about the website, a VA volunteer and Sun City resident is happy to schedule a one-on-one session. For more information, call The Wellness Center at 847-515-2078.

Direct Energy Update
The Village was informed that Direct Energy mailed out an Opt-In letter by mistake to individuals who are already part of the Village's Electric Aggregation Program.  If you have received this letter from Direct Energy and you are already enrolled in the program please disregard this notification as nothing more needs to be done. On behalf of Direct Energy, the Village apologizes for this confusion.

Kreutzer Road Extension - Now Open
The western extension of Kreutzer Road is now open! This project completes an important connection in Huntley's roadway network and provides for east-west travel in the Village of Huntley and also allows improved access to adjacent properties.  (more

Stressed Evergreen Plants
Many residents observed "desiccation”, drying out, occur on their evergreen plants, i.e., spruce, pine, junipers, yews, boxwoods, etc. This condition was caused because of the consistent sub-zero temperatures, high winds and excessive need for de-icing in certain streets and parking lots. (more)

It's Mosquito Fighting Season!
Clarke Environmental will continue spraying for mosquito control every two weeks  throughout the summer (10-14 day breeding cycle).  If you have questions or concerns about mosquitoes in Huntley, you can contact Clarke directly at 1-800-323-5727. (more)

Common Grounds’ Natural Areas and Wetlands
It was brought to our attention that residents are clearing plant material in our common grounds’ natural areas and wetlands, then piling the debris in the same areas. This operation must stop immediately.

T.R. Kirth and Old's Cool
Tuesday, September 9. T.R. Kirth, popular newspaper columnist, brings his group OLD’S COOL to Sun City. This is a great dance & party band, reviving the old school days of classic Rock ‘n’ Roll of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.

The Theatre Company Presents "37 Postcards"
The Theatre Company’s Summer play is a non-musical comedy, "37 Postcards”.  Avery Sutton brings his fiance home to meet his family.  The Suttons despite their lack of sanity are the sweetest people you will meet.  The Martha Stewart family says and does outrageous things with innocence and sincerity, except for Nana, the 97 year old grandma and  the crazy aunt.  Enjoy watching the craziness.

The three performances are  on July 23-24-25 at 7:00 PM in Drendel Ballroom.  Tickets are $10.00.  For additional information call: 847-515-8545 or 847-515-1583.

Kishwaukee Valley & Eakin CreekSun City Model Railroad Sunday Operations
The trains are running this Sunday from 1PM until 4 PM in the backyard of the MiIlgrove Woodshop, 13400 Sun City Blvd. Huntley IL, 60142.  Look for the sign "Trains are Running" at the entrance to the baseball field parking lot.  Admission is free but we ask that children be accompanied by adults.  So if you missed our Open House or you simply want to come out and enjoy the beautiful weather drop by and check us out.
